Uses
For the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anaemias.
Dosage
Prophylactic: Infants 4-6 weeks to mixed feeding: 0.2ml per day. Higher doses of up to 0.08ml per kg body weight might be needed to cover the needs of growing exclusively breastfed infants. Older infants and children to 6 years: 0.5-1.2ml per day. Older children: 2.4ml per day. Adults and the elderly: 2.4-4.8ml per day. Therapeutic: Paediatric: 0.12-0.24ml per kg body weight, up to a maximum of 8ml daily in 2 or 3 divided doses. Adults: 4ml once or twice per day.
